Environmental Medicine is concerned with the interaction between the individual and an environment, in particular the subsequent disturbances resulting from this interaction. In contrast with the traditional view of illness, clinical ecologists explore and bring to light environmental factors that may play a part in the disease of the individual. Foods, chemicals, air pollutants, mold spores, dusts, and danders are carefully evaluated as part of an extensive, holistic investigation and diagnosis of individual intolerance and sensitivities.
